Why Shiva Poojan
The month of Shravan means there is a lot of rain, it is sunny and the green grass has grown, the trees blossomed with beautiful flowers, the (bilva) bela tree has bela leaves and fruits. If we take "Shiva" in the meaning of uncontaminated, Shiva means on holy days, on blooming days, if we look at the forest, the mountain, the grove, the green forest, we get rid of the stress and tension in our mind and forget everything and look at these things for a while. Shiva Pujan is also a good month to forget all the things in the mind and come together. Since this month has been sanctified by nature itself, our mind should also be sanctified by worshiping Shiva. This earthly pooja is performed during Pradosh Sami in the holy month of Shravana with a pious mind. Shiva Poojan is described in the Puranas as being performed by Lord Ramachandra and we call him "Rameshwar" in our practical parlance.
Lord Ramachandra had gone to Sri Lanka in search of Sita, where is Sri Lanka, how are the people there, how are the conditions there, how to reach there were many questions that Prabhu Ramachandra, Marutiraya, Lakshmana had at that time. Of course we remembered God when we plagued with questions, like Lord Ramchandra was faced with all these questions. Lord Ramachandra faced many such questions and to get peace of mind Lord Ramachandra worshiped Shiva to get the answer to his questions. Shiva is described as God who comes running to the holy call. Prabhu Ramachandra meditated with his mind, brought sand from the sea after meditating. Prabhu Ramachandra created a Shiva linga from sand. Lakshmana and Maruti brought these flowers, etc. Prabhu Ramchandra performed worship with a concentrated mind so that, the fear of our mind removed and questions cleared. We know that Lord Ramachandra went to Sri Lanka and came back victorious.
Bring pure, healthy soil from the field, give all the bells, flowers, fruits to Mother Earth, and with the help of water bell flowers, perform water Rudrabhishek on that Shivlinga. This is nature-oriented worship of Shiv Puja, which embraces the earth, self, light, air and sky so that the chanting of Vedas and incense should help to purify the sky principle, Niranjan Aarti should make our worship radiant with incense. From this pooja food, water, milk, juice drink, dhrit madhu grain, agriculture will definitely be favored. Shiv Poojan is performed with the noble intention of building a healthy society by understanding the principles of deity.
श्रावण महिन्यात शिवपूजन का ?
श्रावण महिना म्हणजे पाऊस भरपूर पडलेला असतो, ऊन असतं आणि हिरव हिरव गवत उगवलेलं असतं ,झाडाला पालवी फुटलेली असते, फुलझाडांना सुंदर सुंदर फुल आलेली असतात, बेलाच्या झाडाला बेलाची पानं, फळं लगडलेली असतात. "शिव" म्हणजे पवित्र या अर्थाने आपण आपल्या व्यवहारी जगामध्ये भाषांमध्ये घेतलं तर शिव म्हणजे पवित्र दिवसांमध्ये, बहरलेल्या दिवसांमध्ये आपण रानाकडे, डोंगराकडे, माळाकडे, हिरव्या भरलेल्या वनराई कडे पाहिलं तर आपल्या मनातल्या ताण-तणावातून आपण मुक्त होतो आणि सगळं विसरून थोड्यावेळ या गोष्टींकडे पहात जातो. शिवपूजन सुद्धा सगळ्या मनातल्या गोष्टी ,विकार विसरून एकत्र होण्यासाठी हा महिना उत्तम आहे. निसर्गानेच या महिन्याला पवित्र केलेल असल्यामुळे शिवपूजनाला आपलं मन सुद्धा पवित्र असत. पवित्र मनाने पवित्र श्रावणाच्या महिन्यामध्ये प्रदोष समयी ही पार्थिव पूजा केली जाते. शिवपूजन हे पुराणांमध्ये भगवान प्रभू रामचंद्राने केलेली आहे असे वर्णन आढळते आणि आपण त्याला आपल्या व्यवहारी भाषेत "रामेश्वर" असं म्हणतो.
प्रभू रामचंद्र सीतेच्या शोधासाठी श्रीलंकेला निघाले होते, श्रीलंका कुठे आहे, तिथे माणसं कशी आहेत, तीथे परिस्थिती कशी आहे, तिथं पोहोचायचं कसं असे अनेक प्रश्न त्यावेळेस प्रभू रामचंद्रांना, मारुतीरायाला, लक्ष्मणाला पडलेले होते आणि अर्थातच आपल्याला प्रश्नांनी ग्रासलं की आपल्याला ईश्वराची आठवण होते, त्या प्रमाणे प्रभू रामचंद्रांना सगळे हे प्रश्न समोर चिन्ह उभे होते. असे अनेक प्रश्न प्रभू रामचंद्रांना समोर होते आणि मनाची शांती मिळावी आपल्या प्रश्नाचे उत्तर मिळावेत यासाठी प्रभू रामचंद्रांनी शिवाची उपासना केली. शिव म्हणजे पवित्र हाकेला धावून येणारे ईश्वर असं त्यांचं वर्णन आहे. प्रभू रामचंद्रांनी मनाने ध्यान केलं, ध्यान करून समुद्राची वाळू आणली, वाळूची पिंड तयार करण्यात आली. लक्ष्मणाने आणि मारुतीने हे बेल फुले आणली. आपल्या मनाची भीती दूर व्हावी आपले सगळे प्रश्न मार्गी लागावेत म्हणून प्रभू रामचंद्रांनी एकाग्र मनाने वालुकामय पूजा केली. आपल्याला ज्ञात आहे प्रभू रामचंद्र श्रीलंकेला जाऊन विजयी होऊन वापस आले.
शेतातील शुद्ध सकस माती आणावी, बेल, फुले, फळे हे सारे पृथ्वी मातेचे देणे, पाणी बेल फुलांच्या सहाय्याने त्या शिवलिंगावर जल रुद्राभिषेक करावा. वेद मंत्रोचार व धूपदीपाने आकाश तत्त्व स्वच्छ करण्यास सहाय्यभूत व्हावे, निरंजन आरती धूपाने आपल्या उपासनेला तेजस्पर्श घडवावा, अशी पृथ्वी, आप, तेज, वायू, आकाश यांना सामावून घेणारा, हा शिवपूजनाची निसर्गाभिमुख वंदना. या पूजेपासून निश्चितच अन्न, पाणी, दुग्ध, रसयुक्त पेय, धृत मधू धान्य, कृषीकर्माला अनुकूलता मिळणार आहे. देवता तत्त्वांना समजून स्वस्थ समाज उभा राहावा या उदात्त हेतूने शिवपूजन केले जाते.
सहस्त्राणि सहस्त्रशो बाह्व्वोस्तव हेतयः ।
तासामीशानो भगवः पराचीना मुखाकृधि ।।
(हे भगवन्ता शंकरा! तु ईशान आहेस, तुझ्या दोन्हीं हातात हजारो प्रकारचे हजारो आयुध आहेत. त्यांच्या (आयुधांच्या अग्रभागांना आमच्यापासून पराङ्गमुख कर. अर्थात त्या आयुधांपासून आमचे रक्षण कर.)
O Lord Shankara! You are the supreme soul, and in your two hands are thousands of weapons of various kinds. Protect us from those weapons.
कृते रत्नमयं लिङगंत्रेतायां हेमसंभवम् ।
द्वापरे पारदं श्रेष्ठं पार्थिवं तु कलीयुगे ।।
(या श्लोकानुसार (नंदीपुराणातील) जो कोणी मृत्तिकामय (पार्थिव) शिवलिंगाचे पूजन करतील ते, आयुष्यवान, बलवान, श्रीमान, पुत्रवान, धनवान व सुखी होतील.)
According to this verse (from Nandi Purana), whoever worships the mortal (earthly) Shiv Linga, will be blessed with life, strength, husband, sons, wealth and happiness.
