शिव ही निसर्गात रमणारी देवता आहे. शिवाचे वास्तव्य अर्थातच हिमशिखरा मध्ये आहे. हिमालयामध्ये तिथे कुठले मंदिर वगैरे नसताना हिमशिखरा मध्ये शिव वास्तव्य करतात अशी कल्पना केली जाते.

ह्या गोष्टी करताना आपले हात, डोळे आणि महत्त्वाचा घटक म्हणजे अतिशय चंचल अस ते मन ह्या सगळ्या गोष्टीमध्ये शिवाच्या कुठेतरी जवळ जाण्याचा आपण प्रयत्न करतो.

शिवाच्या पूजेला बेल पाहिजे शिवायचा पूजेला फुल पाहिजे चांगले वस्त्र पाहिजे चांगली वेळ पाहिजे म्हणजे आपलं मन हे पूजेसाठी मुख्य तयार आणि पवित्र असतं तर अशा पवित्र झालेल्या मनाने आपण पवित्र शिवाची पूजा करावी.

पूजा झाल्यानंतर त्याला नैवेद्य दाखवल्यानंतर केलेली पूजा त्या पाना, फुला, काळी माती सहित शेतामध्ये विसर्जित करावी.
